The truth is coming about Dump

From this New Yorker piece:

"The narrative that will become widely understood is that Donald Trump did not sit atop a global empire. He was not an intuitive genius and tough guy who created billions of dollars of wealth through fearlessness. He had a small, sad operation, mostly run by his two oldest children and Michael Cohen, a lousy lawyer who barely keeps up the pretenses of lawyering and who now faces an avalanche of charges, from taxicab-backed bank fraud to money laundering and campaign-finance violations."

When the US used chemical weapons: Agent Orange

Excellent, accurate historical reporting of when the US used this chemical weapon in Vietnam, and the consequences today: "650,000 [are...] suffering from an array of baffling chronic conditions. Another 500,000 have already died." Where's the American outrage about that, especially since it included innocent, civilian women and children? Some of the symptoms of those on death's door:

"Hong Hanh is both surprising and terrifying. Here is a 19-year-old who lives in a 10-year-old's body. She clatters around with disjointed spidery strides which leave her soaked in sweat. When she cannot stop crying, soothing creams and iodine are rubbed into her back, which is a lunar collage of septic blisters and scabs. "My daughter is dying," her mother says. "My youngest daughter is 11 and she has the same symptoms. What should we do? Their fingers and toes stick together before they drop off. Their hands wear down to stumps. Every day they lose a little more skin. And this is not leprosy. The doctors say it is connected to American chemical weapons we were exposed to during the Vietnam war."

Which is backed by science that the US denied:

Fiscal priorities

We have more than enough money; it's just where the politicians spend it.

We bomb them yet we do it too?

How Democrats win

Same story, different day. Polls repeatedly show that the majority of Americans support progressive policies, so that's what progressive Democrats need to focus on. Skip the wishy-washy tack to the middle; we want authentic and strong progressives to enact what we want. See the link for the polling results. A few examples. We want:
  • More aggressive regulation on big banks.
  • Income inequality remedied.
  • Medicare for All.
  • $15 minimum wage.
  • Environmental protection combating climate change.
Give it to us: Meaning we the people, meaning we the humane society, meaning we the inhabitants of a finite planet.

Warren sets Mulvaney straight on destroying consumer protections

Which is exactly what he's done and will continue to do. It's consumers like you and me he's hurting, while protecting big banks who are doing the hurting. His agency needs to be renamed more accurately to the Bank Financial Protection Agency.

Doug Robertson parodies Zizek/Robertson debate

Good caricatures.

Why Repugnantans attack children

Per Lakoff, children, even young adults like the Parkland survivors, are supposed to be subservient to adults. And that's even if the adults are morons, because it's not the place of children to question adults because, damn it, adults just know better. Actually, no they do not, especially in this case, but you can't tell that to a ideological Repugnantan with a strict authoritarian worldview.

US, UK and France launch missle strikes on Syria

Look, war over here. Ignore that Mueller fella.
