Chomsky on Twit and the Repugnantans

In the video below he said:

"Trump is in fact [...] the most dangerous figure in human history. The Republican Party today is the most dangerous organization in human history" (11:20).

"There will be major protests now, everywhere, against the use of military force to occupy American cities and to crush peaceful dissidents. This is intolerable in a democracy. We can't sit by and let it happen, let it proceed step by step until we reach real catastrophe" (19:48).

From another recent Chomsky interview:

"The last several decades pretty much since Gingrich, and extensively since McConnell, the Republicans have just gone off the spectrum. If you look at international rankings, they're alongside the European Parties with Neo-fascist backgrounds. Serious political analysts describe them as a radical insurgency that has abandoned parliamentary politics" (2:58).

"This is a situation which has never arisen in a functioning democracy apart from the fascist takeovers in Italy and Germany. [...] Trump is sometimes, even by experts in the topic, called moving toward fascism" (5:31).

But he goes on to say that Twit is not capable of the sort of organized, fascist ideology of the past, where the dictator's Party controls everything in the country. For Chomsky Twit is more like a "tin-pot dictator' with the big corporations and wealthy in charge. Twit is just an idiotic figurehead being manipulated by their strings. But that is just as bad, given their agenda is pretty much the destruction of democracy, human life and the environment through their paid off and "most dangerous" puppets Twit and the Repugnantans.

I'd add that Chomsky is talking about the first definition of fascist ideology above. There is a second definition more in line with "the merger of State and corporate power."

A good investment for the fascists

When 25 million unemployed people revolt in the streets the fighter jets can be used against them. Smart fascists think ahead. Get some Black Hawk helicopters too while you're at it.

Portland's peaceful night of protest

See what happens when you remove those who were inciting the violence? Score one for we the people against the fascists.

"The withdrawal of federal agents from frontline policing of demonstrations in downtown Portland significantly reduced tensions in the city overnight. Protesters in support of Black Lives Matter once again rallied near the federal courthouse. [...] But in the absence of the federal officers, Thursday night’s protest passed off without major incident or intervention by the police."

Hartmann: Fascism and racism are related

In talking with a guest they show how the two are related, in that fascism always picks a scapegoat to blame. In the US's present case, the blame goes on minorities as being the ones supposedly creating the riots in our streets justifying storm troopers, when in fact its the fascists using legitimate protest as an excuse to implement their agenda. The very real fear is that the goal is to exterminate minorities much like the US committed genocide against Native Americans and the Nazis did against the Jews. Given that minorities are disproportionately affected by intentional pandemic and police policies there is basis for that fear.

Senator Warren grills CFPB head

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which Warren set up under Obama, is designed to protect we the people from financial fraud. And yet the current head is destroying that mission. Warren shows that the CFPB has written rules that protect the mortgage companies from laws that were written to protect us. In addition, the CFPB is protecting credit card companies by not enforcing laws when a consumer files a credit report mistake.

The CFPB on both issues said that those laws can be circumvented as long as the companies provide a "good faith effort." Seriously, those vultures have any sense of such a thing? We know from experience that there is no such thing given the last financial crash. Their one and only goal is to make as much profit as possible and screw we the people in the process. Like every other agency in our current Disadministration, the goal is to destroy any and all protections for we the people and steal our tax dollars for corporations and the rich. This stinking swamp has got to stop. Vote!

Emma on the worst ever economic quarter

That stat is the fact. Comparing it to the stock market is irrelevant and has nothing to do with it, as the stock market doesn't create jobs. In fact, as Emma points out, the stock market is only doing well because the theft of OUR tax dollars has been pumped into it from the so-called pandemic crisis Bill instead of helping we the people. Hence we are still suffering horribly as attested to by the very real stat Emma discusses.

They aren't we the people's priorities

And it's OUR tax money funding those priorities, not the corporations' tax money since they don't pay ANY!

Senator Warren on Twit's secret militia

"Our democracy is on the line" and requires each of us to speak up right now.

Bailey and Kida on World of Dance

Phenomenal performance. This couple could very well win it all.

The Holderness Family - Should we just go online?

Their latest song about what to do about sending kids back to school?

Honest Government Ad from the Blight House

Another powerful parody ad from thejuicemedia revealing what's honestly going on in Twitland.

Obama: "George Wallce may be gone"

"But we can witness our federal government sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators." From his tribute to John Lewis today. Then he really gets going on the Repug voter suppression.

Feds announce withdrawal from Portland

Keep up the good work citizen patriots defending our Constitutional rights. We have temporarily won this battle but we have to continually fight the forces of fascism who will keep trying. According to this report:

"Gov. Kate Brown announced on social media that by Thursday, federal officers who the governor says have been acting 'as an occupying force, refused accountability, and brought violence and strife to our community,' will leave downtown Portland."

For all those liberals obsessing over cancel culture

From Benjamin Studebaker:

"There is now a furious competition among the people who make the discourse for a living to have the 'right' feelings. [...] They think they are doing politics, but the possibility of the state taking any form of meaningful action in response to the protests recedes further each day. [...] When we fight among ourselves, we pose no threat to the state. Making an issue that could be political into a cultural question about morality and aesthetics enables the state to kick it into the long grass."

Yale study debunks favorite Repug talking point

The study found that contrary to their fake talking point, those receiving the extra $600 federal supplement to State unemployment insurance "resumed working at a similar or slightly quicker rate than others did." As usual Repugs lie to support their fake narrative. But since when have facts ever influenced them?

Twit fact-checked on mail-in voting

Continuing this post, Twit's lies on mail-in voting were proven false with this fact check. Not that facts matter to fascists, but still.

"President Donald Trump continues to draw false distinctions between mail-in and absentee ballots, claiming the former are rife with voter fraud while the latter — which he has used as president — require a voter to go through 'a very strict process. The equivalent of going to a voting machine, or maybe even sometimes better.' Voting experts told us the verification process is the same for absentee and mail-in ballots, and many states consider them to be the same thing."

Twit with new racist dogwhistle

He said that he'll protect those suburban housewives who have been abandoning him in droves by banning low-income housing in their areas. We know by 'low-income housing' he means minorities. He previously tried to scare them saying Biden will defund the police (a lie) so crime will be rampant in their neighborhoods. Scare tactics are yet another sign of fascism.

Twitler suggests delaying the November election

We saw this coming, the next step on the road to fascism. He said that if we vote by mail then it will be a fraud election, so we should delay it until we can vote in person. First delay it, then cancel it, then we're all the way there.

Lincoln Project: Time for Collins to go

They expose her for what she is: A Twit stooge, nothing more.

Hartmann reports on storm trooper sexual assault

After relating the horrific story of one of the women on the wall of moms, he rants about how this is the stuff of fascism. There is no legitimate argument to refute the obvious.

Twitler has a new CDC head

Great qualifications, will do the best job ever with the pandemic.

Voting by mail is our right

Forget the lies and fears the fascists are trying to create about it, especially given zero evidence to support them. Voting by mail is safe and protects our Constitutional right. But that's the point to fascists: They don't give a shit about our democratic rights because they hate democracy.

Vygotsky and the inner voice

Excerpts from this fascinating article. (I'm also reminded of Mark Edwards' essay on Vygotsky here. And Damasio's work on the narrative self here.)

"The roots of the new (inner voice) work trace back to the 1920s and the Russian developmental psychologist Lev Vygotsky, who said the human mind was shaped by social activity and culture, beginning in childhood. The self, he hypothesised, was forged in what he called the ‘zone of proximal development’, the cognitive territory just beyond reach and impossible to tackle without some help. Children build learning partnerships with adults to master a skill in the zone, said Vygotsky, then go off on their own, speaking aloud to replace the voice of the adult, now gone from the scene. As mastery increases, this ‘self-talk’ becomes internalised and then increasingly muted until it is mostly silent – still part of the ongoing dialogue with oneself, but more intimate and no longer pronounced to the world. This voice – at first uttered aloud but finally only internal – was, from Vygotsky’s perspective, the engine of development and consciousness itself.

Barr: Black people are more dangerous than cops

Ana and guest discuss how Barr and the Repugs continue to perpetuate the myth that there is more black on black crime, hence the need for cops to focus on them. It is the Repug excuse to deny the fact of their racism by an intentionally manufactured narrative that racism doesn't even exist. It's also used as a fake justification to send storm troopers into their communities to quell the violence that is purportedly their own fault. Blaming the victims is an infamous fascist tactic.

And what compounds it is that some liberals buy into this fake Repug narrative and blame other liberals who make justifiable cases of obvious racism of the kind that Barr and Repugs are guilty of. It's crazy that we have to fight not only racism but those liberals who deny it too from some lofty ideological perspective that is blind to obvious facts and ironically supports the Repug narrative. These are truly upside-down times.

Anna and Emma discuss the fascist narrative

The storm troopers were sent in to incite violence in order to support the manufactured fascist narrative of anarchists that need 'law and order.' Fortunately we still have a free press that is making their agenda readily apparent, but if we don't nip this in the bud now then martial law that eliminates that free press is sure to follow.

White supremacist starts MN riot

The Minneapolis protest was peaceful until this Nazi incited violence, according to this story. Whether he was a plant by our government fascists to do exactly that in order to justify storm troopers has not been proven yet, but it seems likely given their agenda. Hence the fascists continuing to call the peaceful protesters violent anarchists to support their agenda when in all likelihood they are the ones creating the violence in order to institute martial law.

Jayapal grills Barr on selective enforcement

Good job Prarmila in reaming Barr on why he didn't respond at all to armed white supremacists threatening to lynch, shoot and behead the Michigan Governor, but found it necessary to intervene when black people peacefully protest police violence. Barr tried to hem and haw but Pramila was having none of it.

It's disgusting to me that decorum requires that Barr be given the courtesy of being called "the honorable" on his name placard. There is not one ounce of honor in this lying, hateful fascist intent on destroying democracy with shock troops and installing a dictator.

Schakowsky: This is what fascism looks like

From the Congresswoman's interview this morning with Stephanie Miller.

"This is what fascism looks like, absolutely does.  It looks like [...] thugs, no identification of who they are. No visibility of who they are, putting people in unmarked cars, taking them away to who knows where. This is fascism, not like fascism, it is fascism."

DNC platform committee voted down Medicare For All

Progressives obviously have a long way to go to get MFA on the Dem Platform. Solution: Vote in more progressives and vote out more of the corporate establishment. This is a long-term game plan so keep pressuring and voting. And be patient and diligent.

US Hunger Games

This tells us everything we need to know about Repugnantans. In addition to sending kids back to death camps (aka school), if they do manage to survive let them starve to death while the rich get martini lunches. If this isn't the Hunger Games  then I don't know what is. Bernie said about the Repug stimulus package:

"Pathetic would be too mild a word. They are now giving a 100% deduction for rich people to go out and have three martini lunches. But you know what, millions of families in this country are facing hunger; there's not an additional nickel in their package for nutrition programs for children or for working people."

Betsy DePus lied about kids getting sick

I know, shocker. Hospitalizations for Florida children with the virus have increased in the last week. A 9 year-old died from it. Nevertheless the Florida Governor is demanding that schools open in August for at least five days per week. These Repugnantans either are in complete denial or they accept the reality of the stats but don't care. In any case, they are committing genocide against not only adults but children now. Is that acceptable to you?

Purity is useless against fascism

I saw this excellent take about purity on Facecrook. Nature is a dirty business and so is fighting fascism. If we're going to win a war of words with them we need to drop the purity of fair play and open debate, for they play down and dirty like savage beasts. Wars of any kind are ugly and messy, full of blood and piss and shit. Get down in the slimy trenches and do what's necessary to win this war at the verbal level before it's too late.

The rise of surveillance capitalism

Here's Mark Weinstein's TED talk on the topic. He is the founder of MeWe, a Facecrook alternative (which I've joined and suggest you do the same).  The YouTube blurb follows:

"We’re participating in the greatest socioeconomic experiment in human history. It’s called Surveillance Capitalism. Everything we do – morning, day, and night – is tracked, analyzed, and monetized. Google knows when you're pregnant, Facebook knows your finances, and Fitbit knows when you're having sex! What’s the cure? MeWe Founder Mark Weinstein delivers an eye-opening exposé and calls for a privacy revolution to reclaim what rightfully belongs to us. Mark is the founder and CEO of MeWe, the #1 Trending Facebook alternative. Mark is world renowned as a leading privacy advocate and one of the visionary original inventors of social networking. He is ranked as one of the "Top 8 Minds in Online Privacy," and was named "Privacy by Design Ambassador" by The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada. He's often quoted on MarketWatch and has appeared on PBS, BBC, FOX News, and CNN. MeWe is the first social network with a Privacy Bill of Rights. MeWe has no ads, no spyware, no targeting, no political agenda, no boosted views of any kind, and no news feed manipulation. MeWe's Advisory Board includes the inventor of the Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee. Available in 19 languages, MeWe has 7 million members worldwide and projects 70 million by the end of 2020. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community."

Anti-fascists linked to zero murders in 25 years

The facts follow. Remember them when you hear the fascist lies of Twitler, his Repugnantan cronies and Pox Views.

"A new database of nearly 900 politically motivated attacks and plots in the United States since 1994 includes just one attack staged by an anti-fascist that led to fatalities. In that case, the single person killed was the perpetrator.Over the same time period, American white supremacists and other rightwing extremists have carried out attacks that left at least 329 victims dead, according to the database."

A song around the mountain - Peace Train

The YouTube blurb:

"Santa Cruz Mountain friends picking up their instruments and raising their voices in song and solidarity… Brought to you by Mountain Jam and R Community."

Vote out the Repug Senators who want to eliminate Obamacare

Great ad showing how they want 23 million people to lose their coverage during a pandemic with NO replacement plan. Vote out Senators McConnell, Gardner, Tillis, Ernst, Purdue, Daines, Sullivan, Cornyn, Graham.

Lights x MYTH - Batshit

Catchy tune and I like the lyrics. Good video production.

Can't argue with that logic

Those doing the violence are pretty much paid right-wing agitators anyway that have nothing to do with the protest. Their job is to justify storm troopers to quell legitimate protest. You know, fascism.

But I thought they were against a government takeover?

Turns out that's just fine if it's by fascists that want to destroy our democracy. And of course if they get to exercise their cruelty on unarmed innocents. Whoopie!

It ain't Jake from State Farm

This is to whom that husband in the commercial is really talking to at 3 in the morning. At least that's who he's imagining.

AOC on the spiritual practice of non-attachment

I highly recommend the entire interview to get a good sense of who AOC is, her life-long commitment to helping others. I start the video at the point where she brings up non-attachment. This is one of those positive virtues and here she is signalling it as such, and how it helps her to keep some equanimity in the face of the constant barrage of attacks she faces daily in Congress.

When even Pox Views fact checks you

Then you know you're a pathological liar. Well, we know. Twit doesn't have any sane sense of self-evaluation to recognize the obvious.

The facts on going back to school in the US

The reason other countries are opening more safely is because they "had much lower community transmission on the date that they reopened" and they're "using a variety of mitigation tactics." This does not apply to the US.

"The fact remains that when community transmission exists and when community transmission is intense, children will be exposed to that virus and children will be part of the transmission cycle."

Twit and DePus are sending children, teachers, their parents and anyone they come in contact with to their deaths. Vote!

The facts of voter suppression

The facts of voter suppression. We're going to need record turnout this time to overcome it. Greg Palast comments at FB are below. For more info see his website.

"It’s official: 1,913,369 ballots were cast but never counted in the 2016 presidential race. That’s from the US Elections Assistance Commission. And not just anyone’s ballot gets tossed into the electoral dumpster. The US Civil Rights Commission took a look at Florida’s throw-away pile and calculated that your chance of having your vote simply go uncounted, “spoiled,” is 900% higher if you're Black than if you're white.

"Trump’s call for an army of 50,000 vigilantes is laughable: some schmuck in a Hawaiian shirt and MAGA cap won’t scare off voters of color. But 50,000 challengers, challenging every single ballot for Biden — that could succeed. And since mail-in ballots are far easier to challenge than in-person votes, Trump’s trolls could pull off another 'win' by challenging even more than the 2 million successfully blocked in the last election."

Yoho is asked to resign from Christian anti-poverty org

Keep in mind that AOC personally had nothing to do with it. The non-profit Christian organization requested Yoho's resignation because his insults to AOC didn't represent "the values of respect and compassion that Jesus calls on us to exhibit every day." This is a positive case of virtue signaling on both the part of AOC's speech and the Christian org upholding their standards of acceptable conduct.

Civilization requires virtue signaling

Since this is a big topic these days, here's an article by Geoffrey Miller, an evolutionary psychology professor at UNM. A few excerpts follow:

“We all virtue signal. […] Let’s not pretend otherwise.”

“There’s virtue signaling, and then there’s virtue signaling. […] On the one hand, there’s what economists call ‘cheap talk’: signals that are cheap, quick and easy to fake, and that aren’t accurate cues of underlying traits or values. […] On the other hand, there’s virtue signaling that’s costly, long-term, and hard to fake, and that can serve as a reliable indicator of underlying traits and values."

“Virtue signaling includes the best of human instincts, and the worst of human instincts. The best, because virtue signaling is the best foundation for human morality toward strangers that we could reasonably expect from a process as blind and heartless as genetic evolution. […] Sexual selection and social selection for virtue signaling is probably the only way that humans could have evolved any interest in people beyond their family, their clan and their trading network—or in any animals outside their species. Without the evolution of virtue signaling over the last few hundreds of thousands of years, humans probably wouldn’t be able to co-ordinate themselves into any groups larger than a few dozen people, much less civilizations of millions. Without virtue signaling, we’d never have seen the end of slavery, animal torture, cruel and unusual punishment."

Open the schools!

Good parody of an ignorant Dumpster's excuses for re-opening schools.

What does Epstein's madam have on Twitler?

The Lincoln Project's new ad exploring this question. Twit treats other women like shit so why is he being nice to Maxwell, a convicted pedophile and sex trafficker? Part 1 of the ad is here.

Veterans protect protesters in Portland

We the people are not tolerating storm troopers, even our Veterans. We know fascism when we see it.

"A group of military veterans joined Black Lives Matter protesters in Portland as part of an effort to protect them from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) forces on Friday night. Masked and goggled. Some wearing black hoodies emblazoned with 'Black Lives Matter.' Some with attire designating their service branch. Many with their hands held tight behind their backs. Others with signs expressing opposition to recent attacks on demonstrators. 'I am an American patriot,' one such placard read. 'Federal troops defend property, but this does give them the right to take away my constitutional freedom.'"

Musk never cared much for humanity

Like he'd know what is in our best interests.

Our protests are working

From Senator Warren's Facebook page commenting on this story on the Senate voting to strip Confederate names from Army bases. A positive sign that our protests are working, as it took several Republicans to vote for this to achieve a veto-proof majority. Keep up the good work citizens. Resist the storm troopers, as their sole purpose is to keep us from having such power.

Ted Yoho's voting history

Ted Yoho's voting record indicates he's supported women's rights Bills 0% of the time. If you click on that category you'll see the specific votes. Does that make his a sexist? Not necessarily, as it could be just be a partisan difference. Yeah, one that votes against every Bill that supports women and for every Bill that limits their rights. This history adds context to his "f___ing bitch" comment. A history that shows he does not care for women, quite the contrary. I'd say that indeed he is a f___ing sexist, among other things.

Reich on Twit and schools opening

Bottom line: It's all about Twitler and not at all about children's (or any human's) lives. Please vote out this genocidal maniac. He said:

"After railing against the CDC’s guidelines for reopening schools as “very tough [and] expensive” this week, Trump has successfully pressured yet another agency into falling in line with his agenda. The CDC issued new guidelines yesterday that echo Trump’s demands for schools to fully reopen for in-person learning, some of which were written by White House officials instead of CDC experts. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are helping Trump with his dangerous demands by tying billions of dollars in federal aid to schools reopening for in-person learning.

"Let’s get one thing straight: Every parent, student, and teacher wants to go back to in-person learning — but only if no one’s life is put at risk. Trump’s determination to reopen schools no matter the risks is just like his push to reopen the economy: He’s desperate to get the country back to normal so he can boost his shot at reelection. From the very beginning, his only concern in handling this crisis has been to make himself look good and boost his political prospects — and it’s cost over 140,000 Americans their lives. His utter disregard for the health and safety of his constituents never fails to shock me."

Twitler's safety is the only thing he cares about

Remember: He's willing to sacrifice your children for his own sake. Is that worth it to you?

Some progressives respond to AOC's speech on sexism

Emma Vigeland notes that Yoho's remarks on sexism and misogyny were "clear in his horrific confrontation" with AOC. She understands that AOC is a lightening rod for such sexism because Repugnantans are afraid of progressive change. She is a strong supporter of the type of social justice that challenges their worldview, and misogyny is part of that worldview. Emma appreciates having a public figure like AOC advocate for all the women who feel powerless when subjected to the same rampant treatment in the workplace.

Ana Kasparian thinks AOC should revel in being a badass that gets under the skin of angry old misogynists. The latter have held the power for far too long and they should indeed squirm that their sexism is finally being challenged on a national stage because this is what it takes to expose and change it. Cenk Uygur thinks it's time to take the gloves off with these Repugnantan monsters. Their sexism is flat out wrong and the only way to oppose it is in the strongest possible terms.

Black Eyed Peas, Ozuna, J.Rey Soul - Mamacita

Official Zumba video. Fun, infectious samba dance tune and video with dancers from all over the world. If you want you can learn the full choreography here.

Low - Congregation

This song recurred in episode two, season one of Devs. Lyrics here. It struck me as not only a theme in the episode but also in this whole open debate/cancel culture thing. I'll leave you to interpret it for yourself. You'd do that anyway.

AOC on Repugnantan misogyny

She was accosted in front of the Capitol by Yoho, who called her, among other things, a f___king bitch. AOC was going to let it go but when Yoho gave a lame excuse for an apology she had to speak up. Her amazing speech below demonstrates that there's a long history of misogyny in our country and women must stand up and fight at every opportunity. This is and has been particularly rampant in the Repugnantan Party. Sure, they'll claim they love women, they have a wife and daughters. They'll love women as long as they know their place in a male-dominated world. And THAT is what set off Yoho: AOC is a strong women who stands up for human rights and that simply cannot be accepted in their worldview. AOC wins another one for women in particular and human rights in general.

Liberal Redneck on the storm troopers

His down-home wisdom strikes again.

"Our democracy hangs in the balance"

But since when have Repugnantans given a shit about democracy? From Robert Reich:

"Federal agents’ violent crackdown on Portland protesters is just the beginning of Trump’s fascist takeover. His Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, announced over the weekend that the White House would be rolling out a plan to expand federal presence to other cities — namely ones run by Democrats. The plan will be coordinated with Attorney General William Barr and Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf, who said this morning that he doesn’t 'need invitations by the state, state mayors or state governors to do our job. We’re going to do that whether they like us there or not.'

"Hello? Where are the so-called constitutional conservatives who advocate for states’ rights and rail against limited government? Where is Congress, the coequal branch of government meant to serve as a check on executive power? Do Senate Republicans have anything to say about this blatant violation of state authority and unconstitutional suppression of free speech? I fear our nation is vastly unprepared for the lengths Trump is willing to go to preserve his power. Our lawmakers and leaders must act immediately to rein him in — our democracy hangs in the balance."

Japan's healthcare system works just fine

But that's the point for those against it: They do not want people healthy and wise for then they won't fall for their lies and greed. Just another example of genocide in action. Vote!

Warren votes to cut Pentagon budget, Harris doesn't

The amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act proposed only a measly 10% cut to the Pentagon's budget. Warren co-sponsored the Senate amendment and voted for it. Harris voted against it. 23 Senate Dems voted for it while 24 opposed.  It also was voted down in the House with 139 Dems opposing. If Biden wants progressive support he will pick Warren for VP.

This is yet another example of the clear divide between the establishment and the progressive Dems, meaning between who represents we the people and who represents big business and the military. It's a long game fight that we must wage every day until we the people are once again the main concern of our government.

The Lincoln Project lampoons Twit's Pox interview

Which is no easy thing, as that interview was itself a giant joke. They poke fun at Twit's idiotic answers and conclude by asking us if we really want an imbecile for President.

We're already well on the way there

A Twitler re-election will take us all the way.

Crapitalism

It's not just hard but impossible. Plus there are better alternatives per below.

Biden and Obama on connecting with we the people

They did it and Twitler most definitely does not.

Twit is not just a hypocrite

It's also what evil, intentional genocide looks like.

Cenk: Who are they?

Asking about the goon squad beating the shit out of peaceful protesters. He notes that when we want to know their identity the response is that their names can't be released for fear of being doxed (cancelled). Thanks armchair liberals for giving this sort of cover to fascists. Are you ready yet to admit what's really going on here? If so, let's hear it with the same ferocity you use against social justice warriors.

Cenk: "Racism mixed with fascism--it's not hyperbole--you're seeing it unfold in Portland right now in front of our eyes" (10:17).

Hartmann: Twit and Repugs are genocidal psychopaths

Thom compares the aggressive policies that Vietnam implemented in the pandemic, and the positive results from it, with what we did and did not do in the US. And that's why he can say without reservation that Twitler and his Twits are psychopaths hell bend on genocide given that they will do none of what's necessary to save lives. This is especially heinous in sending kids back to school without the necessary precautions other nations have taken.

Call them what they really are. And no, this is not merely cancel culture hiding behind name calling, or the inability to accept a differing yet valid view . To accept that framing is tantamount to enabling fascism hiding behind free speech. These fascists don't give one shit about your or anyone's free speech. The sooner you wake up to that fact instead of indirectly defending them the sooner we can defeat these forces of evil at the ballot box.

Bernie's new Bill on the secret police

He responds to the secret goon squads by sponsoring a Bill that will do the following. Please consider signing his petition to support it.

"Add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of legislation that would force federal agents to wear visible IDs, ban them from making arrests and detentions from unmarked vehicles, and limit their ability to conduct crowd control without invitation from the Governor or Mayor."

Michael Brooks' last statement on Biden

Rest in power my friend. In this video he said:

"Even just having a conversation where you can sit back and look at why Biden is appealing to certain people and how, is disastrously missing in so many quarters."

He goes on the explore how while Biden certainly won't be a Bernie, he nonetheless could very well set up that sort of future Administration with incremental progress in that direction. Instead of looking at just the legitimate criticisms we also need to look at the potential for the possibilities that are opening.

Storm troops designed to steal the election

This article doesn't see the coup as detailed as Hartmann. For them it is much simpler: Send in the storm troopers to use violent tactics on peaceful protesters thereby claiming there's anarchy in the streets. This fear in itself will frighten voters into believing Twit and his storm troopers are a necessity to curb the evil protesters intent on destroying our country. As usual, it's a fear-based tactic and apparently the only one dictators and fascists know how to employ.

"Part of Trump's reelection strategy is to scare the white suburbs, which polls show have soured on him, with 'urban' (read: minority) violence."

"Chicago is one of several liberal, Democratic-run cities targeted by Trump in coordination with his reelection campaign to reinforce his message that he is for 'law and order' while framing rival Joe Biden as soft on crime and anti-police."

Hartmann: Will Twit's secret police keep him in power?

Thom comments on how fascist Twitler could use the protests as an excuse to demand Governors declare an emergency to install hand-picked managers in our cities, much like has already been done in Flint Michigan by eliminating democratically elected officials. They lock down the cities so people can't go out to vote. And of course they'll delay any voting by mail. Then these red States will say they can't certify their election results and without those votes Biden can't win. Then it goes to the 12th Amendment, where the States decide who wins. Given there are more red than blue States there it is, a coup.

It's not just a paranoid fantasy, as Thom reminds us it has already happened here in 1876 so there's legal precedent. Don't tell me Barr is not aware of this, and he and Twit are not cooking up a similar scam using shock troops to justify such a scenario. These fascists have no regard for democracy and would not hesitate to bypass it by any means. At least this way it wouldn't be a full on violent fascist takeover that would surely inspire a backlash.

US Nazi brown shirts came to fight

They weren't there for crowd control; they wanted to break some bones and that's just what they did. Much to Twitler's satisfaction, I might add, as that is exactly what they were sent to do: To intimidate we the people from exercising our Constitutional right to protest. Note that Hitler employed a similar tactic with his brown shirts, a step not far removed from full out exterminating people. That's where we're headed folks if we don't strongly oppose these sort of tactics now. And vote out the Twit and Repugnantans in November. Our democracy literally depends on it. On the brown shirts:

"Hitler also relied on terror to achieve his goals. Lured by the wages, a feeling of comradeship, and the striking uniforms, tens of thousands of young jobless men put on the brown shirts and high leather boots of the Nazi Storm Troopers (Sturmabteilungen). Called the SA, these auxiliary policemen took to the streets to beat up and kill some opponents of the Nazi regime. Mere fear of the SA pressured into silence other Germans who did not support the Nazis."

Please people, vote

We desperately need new management.

Blackpink - How You Like That?

Lotta fun.

4 minutes from Twit's excruciating Pox interview

WoPo boils it down to these highlights, which is more than enough to cause nausea and projectile vomiting.

Greenwald cancelled from the open letter

According to this video, while Williams wanted to have Greenwald sign he was outvoted so Greenwald was cancelled from the letter calling for open debate. Greenwald's response:

"Regarding the apparent fact that the Letter's organizer wanted to have me sign but the luminaries in control actually cancelled me (I was never asked), it's been obvious from the start that the Letter was signed by frauds, eager to protect their own status, not the principles."

The Lincoln Project: How it starts

Good ad showing how the secret paramilitary squad in Portland is the beginning of the end of democracy. Actually, that began the day Twitler was inaugurated and has exponentially compounded each day until now. As the ad says, if we don't get active "we know how it will end."

Twit's cognitive test

In his Wallace interview he said: "The first few questions are easy, but I'll bet you couldn't even answer the last five questions. I'll bet you couldn't, they get very hard, the last five questions." Here's a Twitter response noting: "The last five questions: 'What day is it?' and 'Where are you?'" What a f___ing Twitiot.

Donny the Death Merchant

From this article. Ever imagine the day when a US President is a death merchant? That day has arrived.

"Refrigerated trucks have been requested in Texas and Arizona as coronavirus deaths continue to rise. They are among the states that have recently seen a surge in COVID-19 cases."

Twitiots on Facekook

Who know better than the CDC, right?

Save the Postal Service

Twitler installs a lackey as Postmaster whose sole purpose is to destroy the Post Office. You know, like every other Twit appointee of every other agency doing the same. Therefore please consider signing this petition. This Postdestroyer is

"eliminating all overtime, cutting all extra trips, and directly instructing mail carriers to leave mail behind at distribution centers -- if delivering it might extend their hours. This will lead to serious delivery delays of everything from life-saving medications to vote-by-mail ballots and 2020 Census forms. And it’s particularly dangerous as we get closer to Election Day -- when there will be a substantial increase in vote-by-mail usage across the country, straining the Postal Service’s now artificially limited capacity."

Free the police

What defund the police really means: Redistribute responsibilities and funding to those who can free the police to focus on their primary function.

Pretty much what we'll get from now on

With the CDC cancelled from the process.

We accelerate down the road to fascism by the day

And will continue to do so until we're fully there if we let the Twit win re-election. Wake up liberals and quit infighting; focus and unite against Twitler!

Why do we help the right?

Where our focus should be. But no, let's beat ourselves up on the left and do the right's job. WTF is up with that?

"There absolutely are examples of ugly political correctness from the U.S. 'left,' whatever that means in a country that, by historical standards, doesn’t have a left. But the vast, vast majority of political correctness in America is conservative."

Hartmann: Libertarianism is literally killing us

Otherwise known as corporate capitalism or the 1%. Thom provides several examples of how they have intentionally destroyed democracy in their insatiable lust for power and money, and to hell with the public good. In fact, don't even let them eat cake but rather die horrid, miserable deaths that could have been prevented with ANY semblance of humanity in them. Human life, any life, has no value to them other than what can be extracted from it and discarded like trash for their personal gain.

"In 1980, billionaire David Koch ran for vice president on the newly formed Libertarian Party ticket. His platform was to privatize the Post Office, shut down all public schools, privatize Medicare and Medicaid, end food stamps and all other forms of “welfare,” deregulate all corporate oversight, and sell off much of the federal government’s land and other assets to billionaires and big corporations." "Every federal agency of any consequence is now run by a lobbyist or former industry insider. [...]and the Trump administration refuses to implement any official government policy, with Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar saying that it’s all up to 'individual responsibility.' The result is more than 140,000 dead Americans and 3 million infected, with many fearing for their lives."

The intelligensia fails

Continuing the last post, around 9:00 Brent talks about how we need to get together on the same page, but the intellectual competition and infighting is preventing that. And that's my dilemma. There's the very real fascist takeover happening with the Twits but too many on the left are engaged in internal squabbles over political correctness instead of focusing on the very real danger of fascism. Some go so far as to equate Biden with the Twit so hence they're going to ride on their high horse and never-Biden. Chomsky makes us acutely aware that such an attitude is "a vote for the destruction of organized human life on earth."

I applaud both Brent and Zak for hoping that some mutual understanding can come from open debate, but it ain't even working within the left. And we are the last line of defense from a complete fascist takeover. Obviously something more is needed in this time of crisis, forget the meta. Meta is just keeping us up on that high horse and divorced from the reality of the actual danger right in front of us. This blind hubris of the intelligentsia has happened before and that didn't turn out too well. It seems we are repeating it.

Zak Stein on political speech

Starting around 21:20 Zak talks about how social media has trained us to communicate strategically, i.e. coercive to an agenda instead of for mutual understanding. While I appreciate his analysis that the latter is the ideal we should strive for, given the former is rampant and the ground on which political battles are waged and won, I have based my own approach on such strategic communication. I don't see how mutual understanding can be reached with Twitler and his fascists, nor with the majority of the current Repugnantan Party (strategic insults) who support that fascism, so I fight the war strategically on that ground.

However, there are increasingly more principled Republicans who also see Twit's fascism and how it's destroyed their once proud Party which now enables him. They are doing a great job at articulating both the negatives of Twit and the positives of their core values that have been degraded by him and the Party enablers. I certainly can find ground for mutual understanding with them to hopefully return our politics to some semblance of open debate and mutual understanding.

But the first order of business for me is defeating that fascism and whatever that takes down and dirty in the trenches of strategic framing. I know and understand how those who favor the ideal of mutual understanding can interpret what I'm doing as cancel culture. And I agree: I want to cancel fascism at the ballot box, for if it continues we may lose the right of that ballot box.

Wallace fact checks Twit during an interview

The Twit said Biden wants to defund the police, Wallace calls him on it. Twit gets his team to check it and they could not find it. Wallace later comments that's because Biden never said it. Love it.

The choice is between Twitler and your child

If you love your children the choice is clear.

A Twitty syllogism

Dr. Fauci helps humanity.
Twitler hates humanity.
Twitler cancels Fauci.

Twitler's test runs for fascism

Article by Fintan O'Toole in Irish Times. I've been saying this since day one, and each day brings more tests to see how much we'll tolerate and get used to. We're well down that road now, and if re-elected Twitler will take us the rest of the way there.

"To grasp what is going on in the world right now, we need to reflect on two things. One is that we are in a phase of trial runs. The other is that what is being trialled is fascism – a word that should be used carefully but not shirked when it is so clearly on the horizon.[...] Fascism doesn’t arise suddenly in an existing democracy. It is not easy to get people to give up their ideas of freedom and civility. You have to do trial runs that, if they are done well, serve two purposes. They get people used to something they may initially recoil from; and they allow you to refine and calibrate. This is what is happening now and we would be fools not to see it."

Colbert jokes about Twit's war on Fauci

It's not so funny that Twitler wants to silence the top doctor on the pandemic in order to kill more people, including children. But Colbert finds a way to joke about it nevertheless.

Why we need Medicare For All

This stat alone should convince any thinking person that we need a single-payer system and to get rid of private health insurance companies. Medicare For All is the goal to achieve that.

I know, Biden is not for that but he does include a public option in his plan. It's better than the current system but we need to go further. And we will once people see how well the public option works. Perhaps in 2024 if we keep at it?

Cenk on the Dem task force influencing Biden

He sees it as an optimistic sign that Biden is listening and acting on progressive issues. For example, because of the climate task force Biden proposed his $2 trillion plan for climate action and green jobs. Cenk is joining an increasingly growing crowd of progressives that see Biden responding to our pressure. Yes, he also criticizes Biden on other issues like crime, but he gives credit where it's due.

<

Bernie: Cut military by 10% and spend on distressed communities

Help distressed communities? That's how you know Repugnantans will fight against it and support a bloated military budget instead.

The Blight House doesn't recognize the CDC at all now

With the new Blight House edict that hospitals can no longer report to the CDC on the pandemic, they don't want the CDC involved at all. That is directly related to them opening schools so that they can not only not follow CDC guidelines, they can ignore the CDC (and medical reality) altogether. Their fascism grows uglier and scarier by the day. And we pay for it with our lives.

Bernie: Why we need Medicare For All

Amen Bernie. Medicare For All is still the ultimate goal. We're going to need both Houses and the Presidency for that. Maybe in 2024?
Bernie: The absurdity and cruelty of our corporate health care system should now be apparent to all. As tens of millions of people have lost their jobs, many are also losing their health insurance. That is what happens when health care is seen as an employee benefit, not a guaranteed right. As we move forward, we need to pass legislation that finally guarantees health care to every man, woman and child, employed or unemployed, at every age.

Me Tarzan, you Jane

How some of our primal instincts get it wrong in today's world.

Hartmann: The genocide of this pandemic

If you thought I've been exaggerating about how Twit and Repugs have been handling this pandemic like Nazi genocide, Hartmann agrees with me. First it was old people, now it's children.

Krystal: More hypocrisy from the free speech martyrs

More and more States are enacting laws requiring loyalty oaths to Israel by not in any way supporting BDS or you'll lose your contract and/or be fired (aka cancelled).* And it's not just on Israel, as many States are criminalizing protest altogether. So where are all those who demand free speech and open debate now? Granted the likes of Chomsky have long defended such issues loudly and publicly. Meanwhile others like Weiss support that kind of cancelling. As in most cases, we have to discriminate the wheat from the chaff instead of painting issues in overbroad strokes.

* Krystal notes that Feinstein and Bernie are opposed to such a measure in the Senate, while most there, as in the House, support such legislation. Let's see how many of the open letter signatories are against such cancelling.

Wolff: The coming crash will be worse than the Great Depression

Partly because those at the top, and the stock market, put their head in the sand to the realities of mass unemployment and worsening inequality caused by the pandemic. And who will suffer this humongous crash? We the people, while the rich and corporations get bailed out yet again given their corruption over our government.

All in all, the pandemic is only highlighting and exacerbating problems that have existed in corporate capitalism all along. And to try to solve the problem with just more of the same will only lead to another crash. It really is time for America to transform into the sort of social democracies of northern Europe if we are ever going to survive this catastrophe. Otherwise we're headed for some of the darkest times in our history.

Wolff also makes clear that in the last depression FDR came along an implemented that sort of system including strong unions, which brought us roaring back by building a vibrant middle class and a thriving economy. I recall Moore's movie Where to Invade Next on how most of those social democracies elsewhere almost invariably said they got their ideas and policies from FDR.

The alternative is indeed four more years of Twitler and a full-scale rush down the road of fascism. The choice in November is that clear. Who is more likely to get us at least back on track or derail democracy altogether? And if we choose the former, and we the people start seeing us being brought back from the brink, who is most likely to take over that mantle and take us forward unto a new age of even more and better changes?

Usher - I Cry

From the YouTube blurb:

"This video is in honor of the courage and bravery of the activists and organizations who are demanding a change to broken systems rooted in hundreds of years of racism. It includes iconic photography from the great humanitarian and Black artist, Gordon Parks. -UR"

Krystal: Bari Weiss is part of the problem

She lays out how Weiss is a hypocrite and still tries to cancel those with whom she disagrees, particularly on Israel.

Oxygen on World of Dance

They won the redemption round with this amazing performance.

Sacrifice your own damned children

Fa Q a-hole.

Cenk: Legitimate and illegitimate criticism of cancel culture

Cenk supports the letter asking for open debate and free speech. But in Bari Weiss' case she abuses it to do the opposite. She co-opted the notion of cancel culture and weaponized it against those voices who merely criticized her, which is supposed to be fair game in open debate. This is especially the case with her position at the New York Times, which allowed her one of the most privileged vehicles in media to get her ideas out. But Weiss chose to quit that job--she was not fired--because some of her co-workers disagreed with and criticized her. So of course she signs the letter to hide behind free speech while herself wanting to cancel it for others.

Blight House tells hospitals to bypass CDC on pandemic data

Yeah, this looks legitimate. Our rising number of cases and deaths are so bad the Blight House wants to funnel the data directly to Health and Human Services and make it private. So instead of taking the necessary actions to curtail the pandemic they're now just going to hide the data from the public and  pretend it isn't happening. And without the data it's just going to spread all the more, with Dumpsters thinking its going away so they'll abandon all caution.

Biden unveils $2 trillion green infrastructure and jobs plan

Story here. It's a more ambitious plan than he ran on in the primary. Why? Largely due to the climate panel AOC sat on. Granted, Biden still didn't support her Green New Deal, but what he is proposing is encouraging:

"Carbon-free power generation by 2035; create jobs that pay at least $15 per hour; overhauls its roads, bridges, trains, auto industry and broadband system; reverse years of Trump administration efforts to ease environmental rules, including by setting up an environmental and climate justice division within the Justice Department; create tools to better monitor and root out pollution that disproportionately leaves communities of color with chronic health issues."

Biden is willing to compromise on progressive policy and his latest plan indicates as much. As Angela Davis noted, he is "far more likely to take [our] demands seriously," while the alternative will shit all over them. We progressives need to know when to take yes for an answer, even if it's not exactly the yes we want right now.

The illogic of sending kids back to school

Same difference. The pandemic is raging worse than ever and Repugnantans want to send them back into that inferno. Seriously, WTF is wrong with them? Are they really that stupid? Or worse, cruel?

Krystal: The real culture war is education

And Twitler, DePus and the Repugs want to sacrifice our kids, our teachers and our parents to the pandemic for their own agenda. Here Kyrstal is adamant that they are "utterly immune to reason and data," and that their "outcome is subservient to the ideology." All true. And she defends social justice in that "our public education system is outrageously immoral and unjust and does a lot of work to preserve the class and race status quo." Obviously there are legitimate social justice issues to be vigorously defended and I applaud her for doing so.

However, she claims there's no one on the left to fight that injustice. There she's wrong. Even Biden has an agenda to remedy those issues:

"Support our educators by giving them the pay and dignity they deserve; Invest in resources for our schools so students grow into physically and emotionally healthy adults, and educators can focus on teaching; Ensure that no child’s future is determined by their zip code, parents’ income, race, or disability; Provide every middle and high school student a path to a successful career; Start investing in our children at birth."

Angela Davis is voting for Biden

I'm pretty sure you ain't gonna out-progressive her, so what's your purist excuse now? She said:

"[This election] will be about choosing a candidate who can be most effectively pressured into allowing more space for the evolving anti-racist movement. [...] Biden is far more likely to take mass demands seriously. Far more likely than the current occupant of the White House. So this coming November, the election will ask us not so much to vote for the best candidate, but to vote for or against ourselves."

Did Twitler suppress CDC report for reopening schools?

Yes, according to Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers.

"Trump suppressed a CDC report that concluded 'fully opening schools and universities remained the highest risk for the spread of coronavirus. Trump, Pence, DeVos had this report and said the exact opposite. His intentional lies will endanger thousands."

The Twit and DePus don't want you to know that the CDC reported full opening of schools is of "the highest risk." Their only concern is making things appear to be returning to normal for re-election purposes. And they are literally sacrificing the lives of our children and teachers for their own ends. Vote these inhuman scumbags out!

A more specific letter on justice and open debate

In response to the earlier letter on the topic, some others respond here. A brief excerpt follows to this far more detailed letter questioning some of the claims in the original letter.

"But they miss the point: the irony of the piece is that nowhere in it do the signatories mention how marginalized voices have been silenced for generations in journalism, academia, and publishing. Some of the problems they bring up are real and concerning — for example, they seem to be referencing a researcher being fired for sharing a study on Twitter. But they are not trends — at least not in the way that the signatories suggest. In reality, their argument alludes to but does not clearly lay out specific examples, and undermines the very cause they have appointed themselves to uphold. In truth, Black, brown, and LGBTQ+ people — particularly Black and trans people — can now critique elites publicly and hold them accountable socially; this seems to be the letter’s greatest concern. What’s perhaps even more grating to many of the signatories is that a critique of their long held views is persuasive.

"The content of the letter also does not deal with the problem of power: who has it and who does not. Harper’s is a prestigious institution, backed by money and influence. Harper’s has decided to bestow its platform not to marginalized people but to people who already have large followings and plenty of opportunities to make their views heard. Ironically, these influential people then use that platform to complain that they’re being silenced. Many of the signatories have coworkers in their own newsrooms who are deeply concerned with the letter, some who feel comfortable speaking out and others who do not.

Biden's progressive shift

Just about everyone seems to see the obvious except the stubborn, selfish, never-Biden liberals intent on shooting themselves (and the rest of us) in the foot. From WaPo:

"Joe Biden is looking at building 500 million solar panels, slashing U.S. carbon emissions within 15 years, and rapidly expanding a government-sponsored health care plan. He wants to overhaul the way policing is conducted on American streets and the way success is measured in primary schools. Over the past week, the presumptive Democratic nominee has offered the biggest burst of policy proposals since he effectively won the nomination, including a plan to spend $700 billion on American products and research. It marks a significant move to the left from where Biden and his party were only recently — on everything from climate and guns to health care and policing — and reflects a fundamental shift in the political landscape. The new plans, which have come in speeches, interviews, and a 110-page policy document crafted with allies of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), provide a window into how Biden would govern."
