VP Pence walked out of their game this weekend after some 49ers continued to protest during the national anthem. So Reid responded that the protest has nothing to do with the flag or the military; it is a protest about systemic oppression. He also rightly noted that Pence's walk out is a clear signal of that oppression by those in power, the very thing the protest is about. Reid is also right that it is necessary to control the narrative, and he will continue to do so. Kudos to him and the protesters.
