Justice Sotomayor's questions in the gerrymandering case

The Supreme Corp has been hearing the Wisconsin gerrymandering case. Sotomayor gets to the heart of the issue when she asked the attorney representing Wisconsin: "Could you tell me what the value is to democracy from political gerrymandering? How does that help our system of government?" The attorney hemmed and hawed word salad because there is no good answer to that question.
