Mindfulness meditation can result in blunted moral response

See this article. It's why meditation in itself is never enough, typically within an overall Buddhist tradition/story that also has ethical values and practices. We Americans that don't go for Buddhism need to put it in an equally ethical story to give those meditative states meaning.

There's also quite a bit written about McMindfulness, how corporations promote meditation only as a means of relaxation while staying within the corporate context of labor exploitation. Don't like your job abuse? Just meditate until you detach from it but do not address the abuse.
