Threat can change our brains

Continuing this post, this study compares Kohlberg and Haidt showing some overlap of the two systems. This does not correlate brain areas with liberal and conservative orientations so we need to do that ourselves. Of note is that heightened, situational threat sensitivity reduced liberals response to more like that of conservative conventional binding, while cognitively exhausting conservatives allowed them to more value typical liberal fairness/harm. So politically manipulating people's fear response seems to strongly affect voting behavior.
