Why are the Parkland students so articulate?

You know, the sort of education necessary to be a good and active citizen that makes democracy work.

Ah, but there's the catch, democracy. The oligarchy has been dumbing down education, particularly civics education, since forever in their quest to keep us from being engaged. Hence Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education to complete the process. Fortunately there are still some good schools left that teach our children well. And these kids are changing the national discussion of guns.
