Reich on the reality of our economy

From his FB post on what the unemployment rate doesn't tell you. If you're in this position Americans then vote out the con people that put you there and vote in those that will do something about it.

"A new study reveals the extent of America’s good jobs crisis: nearly half of U.S. workers are employed in low-wage jobs that pay median annual wages of just $18,000. Most of those low-wage workers are between 25 to 54 years of age — not teenagers working their first job as is commonly believed. Workers are understandably frustrated with these poor wages, with a majority rating their jobs as mediocre to downright bad.

"Unemployment may be at a five-decade low, but worker pay is going nowhere. Wages are still lower as a share of profits than they were before the 2008 financial crisis. It is unconscionable that with the lowest unemployment rate in decades, nearly half of workers are only earning $18,000 a year. This stagnant wage growth is not sustainable; we must address America’s good jobs crisis before it’s too late."
