He uses Amazon as an example of how we neglect small cities for economic development. Hence those red States are left behind while a few, select blue cities get all the perks. No wonder they vote against liberal success, since it has forgotten them. Maher suggests we invest in their economic development, creating better jobs, wages etc., all the while helping us to laugh at our smug superiority that loses elections.
