Continuing from this post, in the FB IPS discussion of anti-capitalism,
LP said: "Postcapitalism
has to hold the maximum of space for both tweaked capitalism and
radical anti-capitalist transformation. It is the name for a
transitional space and placeholder -- which serves a laudable cause but
certainly takes the risk of appears less directly radical that many
would like."
EP said: "Someone
in the Integral Global threads on the Gafni fiasco pointed out that
there was a lawsuit against I-i by underpaid workers who also were
expected to work as "volunteers". the low paid workers won the lawsuit. Wilber: BUSTED!
I replied to LP:
As the article said of the transitional phases: "Indeed some of them
may be positive and necessary steps toward a non-capitalist mode of
production. But they are just that—steps—and it’s a mistake to confuse
them with the path as a whole."
I replied to EP: Yes,
in this thread I've noted several instances where conscious capitalist
Whole Foods has engaged in typical capitalist exploitation of workers.
As the article I linked said, "The worst aspects of capitalism aren’t a
mistake. They’re inherent to it." Zak also confirmed this in the ITC
video linked earlier, that exploitation of labor is inherent to this
system.
BK said: "...not to mention WF aggressive and unfair business practices vis-a-vis *the competition*!"
