The media's role in Twamp's victory
Hartmann discusses the $2-3 billion of free press Twamp received during his campaign for one reason and one reason only: ratings. And rating determine advertising prices and profits. Media executives knew this and one even admitted it when he said: "Donald Trump may be terrible for America but he's great for CBS." Some execs even called it "The Donald Trump show" and sold this entertainment as news. While Hartmann says this was the main reason Twamp reason, it was certainly one of them amidst quite an array of other reasons. But still, all that free press had a significant impact on selling Twamp, who is now going to sell America to the highest bidders. And of course we will hear nary a peep from that very same media about their complicity in this travesty.
