Hartmann defends the post office

In this video Hartmann debates with someone who wants to privatize the post office. Hartmann asks about the $5 billion per year poison pill that requires the post office to fund the retirement for employees 75 years in advance, something that no other agency of private company has to do. And the opponent never answers the question, instead in typical Republican or libertarian fashion changing the subject to their favorite talking point. That's because there is no good reason for the poison pill, the post office in fact having a surplus until that intentional sabotage. The real answer is that the corporate cronies in Congress had to fabricate a deficit to make a case for privatization, but it's obviously based on a lie.
