So why is it relevant?

Continuing from this post, why is this stuff relevant? Well, this is a forum for integral postmetaphysical spirituality. It seems obvious that the rangtong/shentong debate is about spirituality, if by that we mean the transcendent realm, i.e., the heaven side of heaven/earth, transcendent/immanent, nirvana/samsara, etc. But both integrality and postmetaphysicality go beyond that in that it's more about how heaven and earth are integrated postmetaphysically, that is, post the sort of transcendent metaphysics that posits the heavenly realm as a distinct and completely separate plane over and above the earthly domain. And all that is the very crux of this debate, and of numerous other expressions explored throughout the linked FB forum.
