Only because there are striking similarities. When Hitler came to power his views were already widely known. But the conservatives thought it was just campaign hyperbole, and that the esteemed office to which he aspired would change him into a more sensible, reasonable leader. They also thought that they could keep him in check, that he couldn't possibly override the other branches of government. They argued besides, let's give him a chance, he'll come to his senses. The media was confident that people would remain well informed and take action to limit him and maintain democracy. Several more examples are provided in the video. Sound familiar?
And this all from the German version of Time Magazine. Germany should know, as they already went through this and have learned from history. Unfortunately Americans are now going though the same sort of illusions and rationalizations about Twampler and his handler Bannon (a Nazi under the guise of 'alt-right'), and do not remember Germany's history for a reference comparison. We're on the same path people, make no mistake.
