See this Intercept expose. It's a well-know fact that pipelines leak. And when they do they cause environmental damage. But hey, do the owners of the pipelines give a flying f*ck?

This is especially onerous in light of the fact that renewable energy production like solar is now at competitive production prices. And at near zero the environmental degradation. Plus there's plenty of money to be made in that transition.
