The decimation of California's old growth forests

Well, they had to cut it down to make room for all the vineyards, since that has been the most prominent CA industry. If they legalize recreational pot though, which can be grown hydroponically and indoors, it would replace wine as an economic stimulus and allow for the replanting of those forests. Yes, it would take a long time for those forests to be 'old growth' again. But we need to think long-term of future generations, don't we?
