Meyers' closer look at T-Swamp's naivete

Calling Twamp just naive is being generous. Meyers comments on Twamp's press hatred, his whining about having a hard job, his continued praise for authoritarian dictators, and of course his idiocy about the Civil War.

Colbert interviews T-Swamp

Not really. He interposes Twamp's answers from something else with his questions and it's quite funny.

Colbert on T-Swamp and the Civil War

Twamp is an idiot. He is much more than just an uneducated ignoramus; he has no innate intelligence whatsoever. His comments on the Civil War are just the latest example in a never-ending barrage of idiocy that comes out of his mouth on a continuous basis. There's no sugarcoating it with political correctness, especially when it's a statement of fact. Those that say it's name calling and off limits are themselves complicit in normalizing this monster.

Twamp rolls back regulations on big banks

He said he'd clean this up. Instead he's making it far worse. The banks are bigger than there were back in '08. And eliminating regulations only makes another crash inevitable, once again allowing Wall Street to rip us off while we foot the bill yet again. Stocking the Twamp swamp with these banksters shows us that what Twamp does is not what he says. He's a cheat and a liar and is working on making himself richer by using the office of the Presidency at our expense. Wake up swamp critters!

Despicable DNC argues it's ok to rig their primaries

Oh yes they did. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is being sued by Sanders supporters for rigging the Presidential primary against him. We know they did because of the leaked DNC emails, the veracity of which has never been denied. Plaintiffs cited the DNC charter, which states explicitly in Article 5, Section 4:

“In the conduct and management of the affairs and procedures of the Democratic National Committee, particularly as they apply to the preparation and conduct of the Presidential nomination process, the Chairperson shall exercise impartiality and evenhandedness as between the Presidential candidates and campaigns. The Chairperson shall be responsible for ensuring that the national officers and staff of the Democratic National Committee maintain impartiality and evenhandedness during the Democratic Party Presidential nominating process."

Continuing the last post, speaking of the obsession with more, more, more. I'm surprised the adjective most wasn't used in those places (a la Twamp), as has been done in the past. The book is only palatable to those most programmed in the cult of kennilingus.

Reign of idiots

Good Hedges article on the end of the American democratic experiment. We're in the death throes folks, and denial is rampant. An except:

"The idiots take over in the final days of crumbling civilizations. Idiot generals wage endless, unwinnable wars that bankrupt the nation. Idiot economists call for reducing taxes for the rich and cutting social service programs for the poor, and project economic growth on the basis of myth. Idiot industrialists poison the water, the soil and the air, slash jobs and depress wages. Idiot bankers gamble on self-created financial bubbles and impose crippling debt peonage on the citizens. Idiot journalists and public intellectuals pretend despotism is democracy. Idiot intelligence operatives orchestrate the overthrow of foreign governments to create lawless enclaves that give rise to enraged fanatics. Idiot professors, 'experts' and 'specialists' busy themselves with unintelligible jargon and arcane theory that buttresses the policies of the rulers. Idiot entertainers and producers create lurid spectacles of sex, gore and fantasy. There is a familiar checklist for extinction. We are ticking off every item on it.

Republican Jesus

Another installment is the series on fake Christianity.

Buddhist non-attachment

Is avoiding attachment a kind of attachment? I try to avoid attachment avoidance. The latter is quite literally a void. I want to form a band: Void Where Prohibited. But we won't sing or play instruments. We'll sit there quietly, doing nothing, staring at a wall.

Salon on Obama's Wall Street problem

And not just Obama's problem, but the entire Democratic Party. Sure, making money is fine. But progressives, and many conservative constituents, agree that Wall Street deliberately caused the crash and are on the same path. And that Wall Street buys politicians to rig the system. It's a message that Trump won on, despite being just spin. If progressives ever want to win again they need to hammer this message home daily, like Sanders and Warren. If they don't they'll continue to lose. And Obama making his money from Wall Street keeps progressive voters convinced that it's useless to vote Democratic.
