People most affected have the best solutions

I'd add academics to this list. For more on Ostrom see this.

Follow the money

And remember Dump and Kennedy had a deal for the latter's retirement specifically so that Dump could appoint another SC Justice before the mid-term elections. As to the Deutsche Bank connection, more here. All coincidence? Only if your brain has been gaslighted. If so, please see a psychiatrist immediately.

Even Business Insider is defending democratic socialism

You know we're making progress when big business media is defending it.

"Democratic socialists also believe strongly in democracy and democratic principles. They are by no means proponents of authoritarian government systems many Americans associate socialism with. As the DSA's website states: 'At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. As we are unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow, DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people.'

Strategies to combat gaslighting

Continuing the last post, here's a personal story about how this woman was gaslighted by her mother. And how she developed strategies to combat it. Good advice for these times when our Presidunce is gaslighting the shit out of everyone. Remain defiant. Recognize there will never be accountability. Let go of the wish for it to be different. Develop healthy detachment. And tell your story.

11 signs of gaslighting

From Psychology Today. They define it as "a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality." I'll just provide the list. See the link for details. Sound at all familiar? Remind you of someone? Not to Dumpsters apparently. To anyone else with even half a brain it's quite obvious.

1. They tell blatant lies.
2. They deny they ever said something, even though you have proof.
3. They use what is near and dear to you as ammunition.
4. They wear you down over time.
5. Their actions do not match their words.

Corbyn to accuse Israel of war crimes

Over their senseless murder of innocent demonstrators. Corbyn is the UK's Labour leader and is trying to get other UK Labour members to sign on to the proposal. Fortunately this leading public figure has the courage to stand up to war crimes.

Words of encouragement for the resistance

Amen. Henna?

Repugnantans bring back no coverage for pre-existing conditions

They care so much for we the people they want to bring back the good old days when insurance companies can once again deny pre-existing conditions. Have any of these? Want them to bankrupt you? Then think again come mid-term voting.

The Intercept: Ocasio-Cortez won because of socialism

Good article showing that Cortez's democratic socialist worldview resonates with most people. Despite regressives trying to negatively frame it, the reality is that it "is a framework that supports a belief that a country in which every one can live with dignity is not the stuff of fantasies, of 'ponies' — nor is it the selfish dream of a 'privileged' populous who want something for nothing. It’s a socialist conception of the world which emboldens Ocasio-Cortez to aver, on a popular late night show, that 'in a modern, moral and wealthy society, no person in America should be too poor to live.'

"Socialism is inextricable from Ocasio-Cortez’s success because it’s the secret behind her ability to do what the Democratic party has long failed to do — articulate a holistic progressive vision for America. [...] Socialism reveals that capitalism — a system which privileges markets over community — is not a natural truth, but a political choice to which there are alternatives. It shows that Jeff Bezos’s wealth cannot be understood as unrelated to the plight of Amazon’s workers, but is a consequence of their hardships. It reveals one man’s merit to be another woman’s wage theft, and challenges society to value humans outside of our ability to toil. It’s what sets up Ocasio-Cortez to talk about human dignity as non-negotiable. Where Nancy Pelosi quips, 'we’re capitalists, and that’s just the way it is,' socialism says that’s not good enough."
