Trickle down economics

In a nut(cookie)shell.

The indictables

Coming to a court room near all who still believe in law and order.

Populism is the answer, but which brand?

Excellent summary of the fix we're in by Anand Giridharadas. He notes that given the dire situation of most working class people, and their revolt against the elites, they turned to an authoritarian populism. They believed in what they perceived as a strong leader who would help them out. They found out in the last 2 years that Dump is a fraud and part of the very swamp he claimed to be against. Hence a different populism, a progressive populism, which genuinely wants to help people, to change a corrupt system, and knows how to effectively communicate it, is what is needed. And it's what we getting with Sanders, Warren and AOC.

Rationale for my blog

It is a common tenet in developmental models that one must frame an issue to the target audience that one intends to influence. Hence just throwing the AQAL model at people does not in itself connect with and/or influence them to change, often to the contrary. This is also something Cambridge Analytica (CA) and Russian spies are well familiar with, framing very specific messages for very specific target audiences right here on Facebook, and their effectiveness in the 2016 election was apparent.

Going back to my comments above about my blog, I have learned from the above and decided to frame messages in a way that target two key demographics that statistically decided the last election: 1) those well meaning working folks who voted for Dump, not racist or hateful generally, who rightfully feel they're getting a raw economic deal from a rigged system, and; 2) those progressives who fell prey to the Cambridge Analytica and Russian frame machine and chose to vote not for Clinton but a 3rd Party, or not to vote at all.

AOC builds the case for Dump's tax returns

AOC, in questioning Cohen, shows the clear necessity of obtaining Dump's tax returns to pursue his criminal activity. Once gain this young freshman is displaying political chops well beyond the seasoned Dems. Either that or being new she has nothing to hide like perhaps the seasoned Dems do and are afraid of opening that can of worms? In any case, she is the future of the Dem Party.

A truth about crapitalism

It's built into its very structure.

Meyers interviews Sanders

He's right that we need candidates who speak to, empathize with, and are authentically dedicated to helping working class people. And he has the longest history of doing exactly that. It is exactly what progressives did in the last election and they won. We have the winning formula so let's keep it up.

How to fix our broken system

Jennifer Lawrence presents this RepresentUS video. She lays our how we're broken and a few tips on how to fix it: end gerrymandering; ranked choice voting; automatic voter registration; overhaul lobbying and ethics laws; transparent political spending; voter vouchers. They were packaged together in the Anti-Corruption Act, which has majority support by people of both Parties.

Bottom line: we the people must get active to push the Act at City and State levels, and vote in reps that support it. It's a long road but one we must commit to for the duration if we ever want to see these changes.

North Korea: Dumpsters a bunch of billionaire racists

They got that right. Their White Paper from the Institute of International Studies said that inequality and racism have increased since the Dumpsters took over, as well as human rights violations. You have to give credit where it's due, as their are right on the money.
