Sanders campaign releases preliminary Iowa results

According to this story:

"The campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders took it on itself to release numbers it collected from nearly 40 percent of precincts, tabulated by its campaign organizers. The Sanders campaign reports it received 29.7 percent of the vote, closely followed by former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 24.6 percent. Sen. Elizabeth Warren came in at 21.2 percent, and former Vice President Joe Biden in fourth at 12.4 percent."

Shadow: The company behind Iowa app

Still no Iowa caucus results. What does this tell us? Only The Shadow knows.

"A tech company affiliated with, and funded by, ACRONYM, a Democratic digital nonprofit group that has rapidly expanded in recent years, was responsible for building the Iowa caucus app that contributed to delays in reporting Monday night’s results in the first vote in the party’s presidential race. Multiple Democratic sources, including one of the presidential campaigns, confirmed the app’s creator."

"Gerard Niemira, a veteran of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, is the head of Shadow. He previously served as chief technology officer and chief operating officer of ACRONYM, according to his LinkedIn page. In 2019, David Plouffe, one of the chief architects of President Barack Obama’s wins, joined the board of advisers for ACRONYM."

According to this story: "Anna Massoglia, a researcher studying at Open Secrets according to her Twitter bio, tweeted that FEC filings revealed Shadow Inc.’s investors included Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden’s campaigns."

After idiot Dump Tweeted congrats to the KC Chiefs from Kansas! Showing once again that the Senate's Repug lips are firmly attached to Dump's ass.

Krystal and Saagar Iowa caucus predictions

We'll see how accurate they are. These two for me are on the top of accurate, in-depth, political analysis.

1. Bernie
2. Liz
3. Buttigieg
4. Biden

Pink Floyd - Time

I was reminded of this one today. Now that my time grows short it is more poignant than ever.

SNL: The trial you wish had happened

Nice fantasy which makes a mockery of the real trial. Oh wait, the real trial did that on its own.

We the people are rising

With Bernie representing us. No wonder the establishment in both parties is having their worst nightmare while we the people have hope again. We are winning!

Reich: Dem Party is part of the problem

See his FB post here. Dump is the result of a rigged system for which the Dem establishment should take some responsibility, since they've done little to change that situation. Clinton and Obama fed that rigged system with trade agreements that give blue-collar workers the shaft. Clinton deregulated Wall Street and Obama bailed it out. Both let corporations decimate trade unions. Thing is, they just don't understand that they have any responsibility for that complicity. Instead they just want to maintain it with Biden and we've seen how that ends.

We need a revolution that turns that around. We need Bernie to represent us, to completely get rid of that corruption, to give us a fair shot again of making a good life for us and our family. We know on which side Biden's and Bernie's bread is buttered: Corporations or we the people. Now it's time for all of us to give Bernie all the butter we got, since we know it will come back to us multiplied like the loaves and fishes of Biblical parable via policies geared to that effect.

False equivalence: Are liberals and conservatives in the US equally biased?

A recent article from Baron and Jost (2019) in Perspectives in Psychological Science 14(2):

"A large number of other studies have revealed significant ideological asymmetries with respect to subjective and objective measures of (domain-general) cognitive style variables. As illustrated in Figure 1, liberals generally score higher than conservatives on measures of integrative complexity, cognitive reflection, need for cognition, and uncertainty tolerance, whereas conservatives score higher than liberals on measures of personal needs for order and structure, cognitive closure, intolerance of ambiguity, cognitive or perceptual rigidity, and dogmatism. A study by Zmigrod, Rentfrow, and Robbins (2018) demonstrated, furthermore, that conservatives performed worse than liberals on two objective (and entirely non-political) tests of cognitive flexibility: the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test and the Remote Associates Test. There is also a good deal of evidence that liberals perform better than conservatives on objective tests of cognitive ability and intelligence. Conservatives, on the other hand, appear to be more gullible and less interested in scientific ways of knowing. They also score higher than liberals on measures of self-deception. Social scientists are increasingly finding that conservatives are more likely than liberals to spread “fake news,” political misinformation, and conspiracy theories throughout their online social networks."

Moore pissed that DNC lets Bloomberg in the next debate

And rightfully so, given other candidates were eliminated from the debate because they didn't meet the DNC rule that they broke for Bloomberg. Why did they break it? Because Bloomberg is giving them big money. That more than anything tells us what the DNC's real interests are, and it ain't we the people.
