What the labor movement brought you
Hence the rabid and fake news about it from the corporations. If you value these benefits then give credit to and support for the labor movement.

"The larger story of the human species is its versatile capacity for cooperation. We have the unique potential to express and act upon shared intentionality. 'What makes us [human beings] really different is our ability to put our heads together and to do things that none us could do alone, to create new resources that we couldn’t create alone,' says Tomasello. It’s really all about communicating and collaborating and working together.' We are able to do this because we can grasp that other human beings have inner lives with emotions and intentions. We become aware of a shared condition that goes beyond a narrow, self-referential identity. Any individual identity is always, also, part of collective identities that guide how a person thinks, behaves, and solves problems. All of us have been indelibly shaped by our relations with peers and society, and by the language, rituals, and traditions that constitute our cultures. In other words, the conceit that we are 'self-made' individuals is a delusion. There is no such thing as an isolated 'I.' As we will explore later, each of us is really a Nested-I. We are not only embedded in relationships; our very identities are created through relationships. The Nested-I concept helps us deal more honestly with the encompassing reality of human identity and development. We humans truly are the 'cooperative species,' as economists Samuel Bowles and Herbert Gintis have put it. The question is whether or not this deep human instinct will be encouraged to unfold. And if cooperation is encouraged, will it aim to serve all or instead be channeled to serve individualistic, parochial ends?"

The Overton window
What's interesting about this
is that Repugnantans frame ideas entirely popular to the public as extreme and unacceptable, like
Medicare for All, a living wage, fair taxation, reasonable gun reform
and climate action. Whereas repeated polling
shows that these ideas garner majority support. So the actual
acceptable window is spun as outside acceptability by vested corporate
interests. As a relevant aside, lying in
order to manipulate is not only not fair, it is not protected free
speech under the first Amendment.

He first gives the corporate lies, then the truth. I'm just focusing on the truth. See the video below for detains.
1. Unions are good for all workers, even those not in one. Wages, hours, benefits and working conditions are better when labor has bargaining rights.
2. When workers have the above they have more money to spend and spur the economy. When they spend businesses thrive and hire more workers.
3. Labor union power pales in comparison to business power, so in order to have a more equitable relationship unions need to grow again.
4. Unions span all sectors of the economy.
5. Most new union members are women and minorities.

MLK's hopeful labor day message
We've done it before and we can do it again. Though we'll need to vote in Sanders and other progressives if we want to return to labor fairness and justice. We'll never get it with the current, corrupt system headed by Dump, the Senate Repugnantans and the corporate Dems.
It could be a happy labor day
If the money saved through
robotic efficiency was fairly distributed to everyone then it would be a
happy labor day, since labor would be greatly reduced or eliminated.
Thing is, unless we change our government to one of, for and by the
people all that savings will keep going to the already rich and the rest
of us will just suffer and die. Sort of like now.
Not so happy labor day
For most Americans. If you had the day off you're a lucky one. Think of those not so fortunate with shit jobs that don't care about them.
