Generous welfare countries inspire people to work

See this article. One again science dispels regressive myths. The latter assume if you give someone welfare they'll get lazy and not want to work. But once again the facts dispute their ideology unfounded in reality. Quite the opposite in the study cited in the article. But that's in countries that offer generous welfare programs, unlike the US. Here the regressives not only cut welfare benefits to below poverty level but stigmatize those on them. It is the regressive policy that self-fulfills its own prophesy, not the recipients. Treat welfare recipients well like in the countries studied and you get the opposite effect.
