Cornel West doubts the Dem Party can be reformed

See this Democracy now interview. He thinks that given the Party's addiction to big money it just will not take up the call of the working person. He discussed how this played out in the Democratic Platform committee in which he participated. And how it plays out in other Dem Party practices. While West highly appreciates Sanders, he now finds him as a New Deal insider which that will prevent him from getting the sort of radical change the Party needs. In a sense the Party has coopted him.

"There has to be some integrity and moral consistency, and unfortunately the Democratic Party just strikes me as not being able to meet that challenge" (3:50).
