Why Twampler lies about the murder rate

The Biggest Loser claims the US murder rate is at a 45-year high when in fact it is near a 50-year low. So why does he lie about it? He wants to create fear to implement his authoritarian policies, like the Muslim ban and The Wall to keep out those murdering Mexicans. He also wants to expand police powers, and likely arm them with the latest in war gear, since Twampler is at war with the American people.
