Republicans sabotage public education

Senator Warren discusses the new Republican resolution to roll back Dept. of Education school accountability rules put in place by the former Administration. Said rules clarify how schools should implement the Every Student Succeeds Act. The Acts passed with bi-partisan support with 85 votes in the Senate.

But now that DeVos is heading the Dept. of Education the Republicans are willing to throw public school accountability out the window to support DeVos' and the true Republican agenda of completely privatizing education. For if public schools are held accountable then it's obvious their performance would outshine private school performance, just as they've factually done since the Act was passed. But with this sabotage of course that trend will be reversed and Republicans can then lie that public schools don't work. It will only be because they sabotaged public schools in the first place.
