Why spiritual growth does not lead to enlightenment

Good article. I appreciate the article saying enlightenment is not a final state of perfection. But this bogey man still persists: "It connotes being awake to and aware of one's real nature, of the true nature of reality, or both." I also appreciate focusing on the awareness process itself. Granted I'm not buying that such training reveals our or the universe's 'true nature,' it is absolutely necessary to examining and correcting our obstructions and syntegrating all the domains of our life. I also appreciate the emphasis on embodying such awareness, one of those domains often neglected by "transcendentalism."
