"Over and over again, the extreme right tells us that increasing the minimum wage will lead to fewer jobs. And over and over again, the facts have proven them to be dead wrong.
"When Seattle increased its minimum wage to $15 an hour, the right wing called it an 'economic death wish' that would cause unemployment to skyrocket and restaurants to shut down. Instead, the exact opposite happened.
"Since Seattle increased its minimum wage to $15 an hour, employment in restaurants and bars in that city have soared. The reality is that increasing the minimum wage puts money in the pockets of workers who spend it in grocery stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and businesses all over America.
"Poverty will be reduced, new jobs will be created and employee turnover will go down if we raise the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour. Let’s get it done."
