Why Germany leads in renewables

It's because they have a national development bank to fund the project, as do "many European, Asian and Latin American countries." The US had one under FDR to "build roads, bridges, dams, post offices, universities, electrical power, mortgages, farms, and much more; and it funded all this while generating income for the government." The US just needs new leaders committed to renewable energy and to funding it via such development banks. Perhaps after 2020 when we have a progressive President, Senate and House?
