Our house is on fire. Join the resistance: Do no harm/take no shit. My idiosyncratic and confluent bricolage of progressive politics, the collaborative commons, next generation cognitive neuroscience, American pragmatism, de/reconstruction, dynamic systems, embodied realism, postmetaphysics, psychodynamics, aesthetics. It ain't much but it's not nothing.

The negatives of the 60s
I noted the positives about
the 60s in this earlier post. Here are the negatives and to which I also fell prey, at
least for a while. Not only questioning authority but dismissing it
altogether. All authorities were corrupt and to be shunned. Hence there
was no desire to participate in overall society whatsoever, as it too
was corrupt beyond repair. That's the dropping out part, just hanging
out with other stoners in a counter-culture, being lazy, hedonistic,
living completely in the now with no care about any future. Many of us
dropped off the grid altogether, quit paying taxes, got involved in
criminal behavior to make ends meet. Drug addiction was rampant, as was
selfishness and the abandonment of family ties or social responsibility.
We somehow thought that our rebellion in itself would change society,
and of course it didn't. We not only abandoned mores of sexual monogamy
but had promiscuous sex with just about anyone and transmitted STDs with
recklessness.
