Talbot: Elect Biden, then challenge him from the left

His FB post follows commenting on this article. That's what I've been promoting all along.

"Elect Biden... then challenge him from the left. That's the constructive message from progressive Democrats as the party begins its virtual convention today. Led by progressive Congressional leaders like California's Barbara Lee and Ro Khanna, left-wing Dems are declaring all-out support for Biden over Trump -- but not for a party platform that stops short of endorsing Medicare for All. I like the slogan of Roots Action, the progressive group spearheaded by Marin County delegate Norman Solomon: 'Vote Trump Out/Then Challenge Biden.'

"I also like that delegate Marcy Winograd from Santa Barbara is already pressuring Biden not to pack his administration with hawkish foreign policy holdovers from the Obama years, including Susan Rice and Samantha Power. 'Once Biden gets elected, there will be no honeymoon,' Winograd has declared.

"I'll be tuning into the Democratic Convention this week, to hear the leading voices of progressivism that can no longer be suppressed by the DNC -- including Bernie Sanders tonight, AOC on Tuesday and Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday."
