Hartmann on the Syrian bombing

Keep in mind that Twamp owns stock in the weapons company that manufactured the missiles launched into Syria, and that their stock price went up after the bombing. Coincidence? Especially since Twamp has no coherent Middle Eastern policy and the bombing was just a ploy due to lagging  approval ratings.

The Fox guarding the hen house

So Fox News is going to investigate O'Reilly's sexual predator behavior? Seriously? The network that has been proven to time and again not only excuse but encourage its men to behave this way? Let's guess what will be their conclusions, especially since The Big O'Raunchy is their prime bread winner.

Syrian bombing a stunt

Continuing from this post, Olbermann accurately reports below on how the media and the public fell for Twamp's obvious bombing stunt to not only distract from his Russian troubles but also to create an atmosphere of threat. He also outlines the numerous reasons it was a political ploy and nothing else. Per the previously linked article even the most liberal of minds can be manipulated with heightened threat sensitivity, so that's why dictators create wars to keep people in line.

Heather & Alan

In my mind the 2nd best dance of the night. The dance starts around 1:40. Again, far better dancer than Rashad.

Simone & Sasha

I don't get the judging on this show. They gave Rashad & Emma 39 out of 40 with three 10s, yet Simone &Sasha get all 9s for 36? Granted Rashad has charisma and emotional appeal, but he's nowhere near the dancer Simone is. The judges even heaped praise on Simone for this performance for not just her usual technical expertise but deeply connecting to the emotion of the dance. Simone was the real winner last night in my judgment. If you want to jump to the dancing it starts around 2:00.

United Airlines training video

In light of this recent story of UA CEO praising security for physically assaulting a passenger:

Threat can change our brains

Continuing this post, this study compares Kohlberg and Haidt showing some overlap of the two systems. This does not correlate brain areas with liberal and conservative orientations so we need to do that ourselves. Of note is that heightened, situational threat sensitivity reduced liberals response to more like that of conservative conventional binding, while cognitively exhausting conservatives allowed them to more value typical liberal fairness/harm. So politically manipulating people's fear response seems to strongly affect voting behavior.

Jon Oliver has an ad for the O'Reilly Factor

He decided to submit one to the show, since over 60 advertisers have pulled out over O'Reilly's sex scandals. And this one is tailored for Twamp.

The Wall ain't going to happen

See this article showing it's the Republicans that don't want the Wall. Speaker Ryan isn't going to include the funds for it in his budget. Republicans from TX and AZ think it will cost too much. And Senator McCain says will degenerate US-Mexican relations. Plus 67% of Americans don't want it. Just one more Failure for the Biggest Loser of All Time.

Reich on Twamp's betrayals

See his FB post on this. You Twamp supporters have been duped, it's time to admit it. Twamp promised he wouldn't bomb Syria and he did. He said he'd build a wall along the Mexican border and now it likely won't happen. He said he'd clean up the DC swamp and instead has stocked it with the most vile Wall Street vermin. He said he's replace Obamacare with something better and what he offered was far worse. He said he'd divest from his financial empire and instead he not only hasn't but he's profiting from the high Office. He said he'd faithfully execute the law and instead he's under investigation for treason. He calls accurate news that criticizes him fake and yet eats up the real fake news at Fox and Breitbart.
