Petition for a jobs bill and unemployment benefits extension

From the Daily Kos:

Speaker John Boehner opposes restoring emergency unemployment benefits because, he says, “the ultimate solution to joblessness is more jobs.”

He’s right: We do need more jobs. We also need a strong safety net to support long-term unemployed Americans and boost our economy.

Join Daily Kos and the DCCC to tell John Boehner: You’re right, we need more jobs. Pass a jobs bill now and restore emergency unemployment insurance.

Funny thing about Boehner saying we need more jobs: He’s been Speaker of the House for more than three years, but he hasn’t introduced a single jobs bill to put Americans back to work. Instead, he and his Tea Party caucus have done everything in their power to thwart Democratic jobs initiatives, while fulfilling the wish list of the top 1%. And now, he’s using the gridlock he’s caused as an excuse to attack President Obama and beat up on the unemployed.

John Boehner can’t have it both ways.

Sign the petition: We need more jobs. Pass a jobs bill and restore emergency unemployment insurance now.

Keep fighting,
Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos
