Republican accidentlly reinforces progressive framing
According to Lakoff, the Republican candidate for Georgia's 6th district accepted Democratic Candidate Ossoff framing of a livable wage when she said: "I do not support a livable wage." First of all, it's good for her to admit the usual Republican stance that they do not want hard-working people to be paid enough to even live on. But according to Lakoff, negating the frame 'livable wage' in fact reinforces the frame. If true, let's hope that such a sentiment in repeated often by other Republican candidates and representatives. Unfortunately, most of them are highly trained in framing, know it was a mistake and won't likely do it again.
