Uber and Lyft drivers make $3.37 per hour

Uber and Lyft are the epitome of the work-for-yourself, independent businessman hype promoted by these companies as some sort of American Dream. And yet $3.37 per hour is the median income before taxes of those who work 'with' these companies according to an MIT study. "The report – which factored in insurance, maintenance, repairs, fuel and other costs – found that 30% of drivers are losing money on the job and that 74% earn less than the minimum wage in their states."

That's the American Dream all right, for giant corporations that run these scams. But it's just the way business is done these days, right? Nothing you can do about it, right? Wrong. Vote people. Harass your representatives. Change it.
