It's a catchy meme but
I see democratic socialism as a transitional socioeconomic form on the way to the
collaborative commons, where capitalism will ultimately be replaced. As
but one small example of the CC, cooperative ownership of business isn't
capitalism in the least, if by capitalism we mean ownership of business
is in the hands of a small cadre of owners while the rest are the
laborers in exchange for wages. In coops the workers are also the owners
and any surplus is distributed to them, not some elite that controls
capital investment and reward.
