Chomsky on Bernie

Continuing the last post, Ana talks with Chomsky about Bernie. Ana plays a clip showing Chomsky talking about Bernie's slim chances so Chomsky elaborates. The previous point Chomsky made was more about that even if Bernie won he wouldn't get support from Congress. But Ana counters that with the bully pulpit of the Presidency that Bernie would inspire countless movements throughout the nation to keep fighting and pressuring elected officials to either change or vote them out. Chomsky agrees with that, that indeed Bernie and his strong movement could indeed pressure the change necessary to dethrone the oligarchy and re-institute a much fairer and equitable democratic process. Which is of course why the status quo is fighting so hard against him. But we the people have defeated them before and we can and will do so again.
