Krystal defends cancel culture's response, sort of

Krystal understands that at least some of the response to the liberal anti-cancel culture has to do with the disingenuous use of that term on the right. They use it to shield racists, liars etc. from criticism. And they use it to claim we're just a bunch of commies that hate America when we peacefully protest whose free speech should be curtailed. So it's natural for those attacked in this manner to wonder why when liberals do it it seems like giving aid and comfort to the enemy. This is especially so since the cancel culture trope has been used for ages against liberals to hide atrocious injustice.

It was even used by the establishment Dem Party and their media sources to shut out (cancel) Bernie's views during his campaign through ignoring him or countering him constantly as socialist or an extremist who goes beyond the pale. This is something Krystal has hammered home time and again, so no wonder progressives feel betrayal when the left uses similar tactics against those who are trying to defend the kind of legitimate social justice issues that Bernie championed. 

At least Krystal, often used to support the liberal attacks on cancel culture, gets where the response is coming from, instead of just blaming them wholesale.
