"One of the biggest myths about immigrants is that they don't pay taxes. Wrong. Both documented and undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes, contributing more to society than they receive in benefits. Undocumented immigrants contribute roughly $13 billion to Social Security and $3 billion to Medicare every year, according to the most recent data. They also pay local sales and property taxes on top of that.
"Immigrants are critical to the health of the economy, strengthening Social Security and boosting economic growth. The demagogues who say otherwise are just trying to divide us against each other to consolidate their own power. Don't fall for it."
