Privatizing Medicare
Speaker Ryan's intentions have been clear on this matter for years, given he has actually made proposals to do exactly that. So for the new Congress he has updated his plan to privatize Medicare. Instead of the current Medicare system, those who qualify would instead be given a voucher to spend with private heath insurance companies. The article fails to mention that once this limited voucher is used up then TFB, no more coverage. What it does mention is that those who use it will have to contribute more of their limited incomes, up to twice as much as is now required. This is mainly because it will cost more for services with private providers than it would if the government pays for them under the current system. But hey, you voted for this people.
