Why Sanders didn't fight Schumer's Senator minority leadership

This article explains it. Sanders is playing a strategic long-term game to initiate change in the Party. So by so doing he gets on the inside of it with a leadership position. And he's influenced Schumer to support Ellison for DNC Chair, which carries a lot of weight. If (big if) Ellison gets that Chair then Sanders and progressives have made considerable progress.
