Kuhn: Theory-dependence of observation

Continuing this post, particularly its footnote, Kuhn described what he called the "theory dependence of observation," whereby perception itself if far from neutral. Hence two scientists looking at the same phenomenon see different things because the "nature of observation may be influenced by prior beliefs and experiences." There is no neutral observational arbiter that sees an objective reality as it is; our preferred theories and models structure what we see.
