Progressive Caucus learns to play hardball
As well they should with the corporate wing of their Party. Democratic leadership planned to water down the Prescription Drug Bill to accommodate Big Pharma but the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) pledged to block it from getting to the floor unless their changes were made. Pelosi relented and the Bill passed muster. Now that the CPC has 98 members they have the power to force the establishment hand and they must continue to exercise that power, for it represents we the people's wishes.
